On Saturday 12 September, you can take part in Galdane Rundt – a beautiful trail run along historic roads and through some of the finest scenery Lærdal has to offer.

Galdane Rundt is an 8.7-kilometre circular route through varied terrain along the Lærdal River. Much of the route follows the historic King’s Road across Filefjell, taking you through a landscape of steep mountainsides, lush nature and traces of local history.

Along the way, you will pass the old Galdane croft. This is a wonderful place to experience the contrasts of the Lærdal landscape, with the powerful river, historic roads and distinctive cultural landscape surrounding you.

And you do not have to run to take part. Galdane Rundt offers both a competitive class and a recreational class, so you can choose whether to challenge yourself against the clock or enjoy the route at a more leisurely pace.

Participants in the recreational class can start from 11:00, while the competitive race starts at 13:00. The event is organised by Lærdal Sports Club.

Make a weekend of it in Lærdal

Combine Galdane Rundt with a stay at Lindstrøm Hotel. After a day out in the fresh autumn air, you can relax and enjoy the rest of your weekend in beautiful Lærdal.
